The Bible does not specify the mode of travel of the wise men, so we do not know if they rode camels, donkeys, or if they walked overland. Their wealth suggests that they could have had camels, but being from the east, these would have been Bactrian (two-humped) camels, not the (one-humped) dromedaries on which they are usually depicted in western Christmas art.
