1 Nephi 11:6 Blessed Art Thou

The words “blessed art thou” (1 Nephi 11:6) were borrowed from Luke 1:28, which, being in the New Testament, was unavailable to the Nephites, who left Jerusalem six centuries before Christ’s birth..

These very words appear twice in the Old Testament (Psalms 119:12; Ecclesiastes 10:17), while the equivalent “blessed be thou” is found six times.
